On September 14, 2012 the Norwegian Star and the Royal Caribbean Explorer of the Seas cruise ships were moored stern-to-stern at the Royal Dockyard in Bermuda. In the afternoon a tremendous (but brief) storm blew in with heavy rain and 75mph wind gusts. Somehow the forward moorings of the Star were ripped loose and the ship was blown on a slow-motion collision course with the otherwise stationary Explorer of the Seas. This video was shot from the Windjammer Café high on the stern of the Explorer. Happily no one was hurt. The Star came away with a much more visible dent after the big bump, but both ships sailed later the same day and arrived back in New York on time.
