UNO Tashkent. In the spotlight.The Head of the UNRCCA visits Uzbekistan

On June 16-17 the Representative of the UN Secretary-General, Head of the UN Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA) Miroslav Jenca visited Tashkent to take part in the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Executive Committee of the Regional Anti-terrorism Structure of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO/RATS). During his stay the SRSG also held meetings with the Deputy Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Mr. Vahabov and a number of senior officials of the SCO RATS, the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank. The sides exchanged views on challenges and trends in Central Asia focusing particularly on the trans-boundary water management and counter-terrorism.
