UNO Tashkent. The Inside Story. World Bank holds training

Earlier this month the World Bank in Uzbekistan organized a three-day training for the communication specialists of public and private institutions working in the development area. Hosted at the Academy of State Governance under the President of Uzbekistan, the workshop touched upon such issues as understanding of how communications can increase the value of operations, and how to integrate it into development projects and various approaches to build a solid communications strategy. Below is an interview with the former Manager of the World Bank Development Communication Division Paul Mitchell who delivered the training to over 20 communications and public relations specialists. We asked Paul to tell us about the role of development communications and some of the challenges in this area.
